John 1:1 is one of the most commonly used verses to prove Christ’ deity. But nowhere in the verse stated that Christ already pre-existed in the beginning or is He pointed out to be the true God who became man. So, there was no Christ yet existing in the beginning but only a “predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God (Acts 2:23) regarding the creation of Christ. God had Christ already in His mind as a plan even before Christ came to exist. The reason why the “word was with God” is because what was with God in the beginning was not Christ Himself but God’s Word…His knowledge or plan to create Christ.


The term Word in John 1:1 and 14 was translated from the Greek word “Logos”. The Logos or Word as be understood from the pronouncement of Apostle Peter was not Christ Himself pre-existing as God, but a plan or thought coming from God.

Another most frequently used is Philippians 2:6. Reading further on verse 9 it states “Wherefore God also jas highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name. The existence of two distinct beings is obvious: One is God who has highly exalted Christ and the other one is Christ who has been highly exalted by God. If Christ was God, how could He be highly exalted and be given the name which is above every name by God? How could Christ and the God who exalted Him be both truly God?

“Being in the form of God” and “being God” does not mean the same thing. They are in fact spiritually incomparable. Man was created in the image of God. Lest Christ’s being in the image of God be misunderstood in the visual sense, Apostle Paul pointed out that God is invisible. In fact, all men were created in God’s image.

John 10:30 states that “My Father and I are one”. First of all, the verse does not state the two are one God. In other translations, “My Father and I are united”, “My Father and I are in one accord”. Jesus and God are not one in nature. They are two separate beings. Christ is subordinate to the Father. The Father is supreme over Christ. In Matthew 24:36: “No one knows when that day and hour will come, neither the angels in heaven or the Son; the Father alone knows.” If Christ is truly God, He should know when His Second coming is.
